ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The Tip Top Project is a new original musical inspired by a real 1930s Detroit dance troupe and an intergenerational relationship rooted in that history. Blending ensemble-driven choreography with contemporary storytelling, the work moves between past and present through music, movement, and memory.
At its center is a granddaughter who steps into her grandmother’s world, where factory labor and stage performance coexisted and community was sustained through collective artistry. The project explores resilience, shared effort, and the enduring power of ensemble during periods of social and economic uncertainty.

The Tip Top Project is currently advancing toward its next workshop phase, with choreogrpahy and music in active development. As the project moves forward, we are building momentum toward its next stage of presentation.
